That's the problem with being older. You know more people to miss. I grew up with the Nelsons. :)

I hear you. Seems the more time I spend around my kids the older I feel with the blank stares to references etc.

Well I DO like the beaver haha

no seriously, I LOVE Leave it Beaver ( saw it in syndication ), think that show gets a total bum rap as the poster child of the fake 50's morality.Other than June vacuuming in her pearl necklace ( alright alright ) there were some cool realistic things - if im not mistaken they were the first show to show a married couple sleeping in the same bed. Other than that I grew up in the 70's.

I think Ward and June's bedroom was off-limits. Scenes for the show were not shot in there.
I used to love Ward's big concession to Saturdays: He would dress for breakfast exactly like he was going to work except no tie, and a button down sweater would replace the sport coat. This guy was a king-hell weekend warrior.

no I think they showed a double bed. I'm almost sure of it. Ward would have made a damn good dad though. After he got over the initial annoyance most of us Dads know all too well He almost always tried to look at things from when he was their age. That's cool no matter what generation. And like any Dad said yes dear to fighting in front of the wife but winked at his kid in pride if he stood up for himself ( defended himself in a fight or whatever )hell yeah.

You might be right,
My thinking is the show went off the air in '63 and Laura and Rob Petrie were still bunking in seperate zip codes on the Van Dyke show till it went off the air in '66.

There are also some O & H commercials here for things like Kodak & Aunt Jemima.
